[TEDxKFAS] Kwanghun Chung "Why Do We Need a Better Map to Conquer the Brain?"

 


 

At some point in our lives, we will all be touched by brain disorders, as either a patient or a caregiver. One in three of us will suffer from Alzheimer’s disease or some other form of dementia. One in 68 children has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. There are over 600 neurological disorders, for most of which we don’t have effective treatments despite of decades of research. What are the main challenges that hamper the progress of neuroscience research? How can we accelerate the pace of discovery and the development of new therapeutic strategies?
